It anchors the splint to your hand. The basic Trigger Finger Splint grips the finger alone, which works well but can rotate on a thumb or a slim finger. This one adds a strap around the palm (up to 12") that holds the splint in position, so it stays put through the day without needing to be cranked tight on the finger itself.

Of our finger splints, yes. The thumb sits at an angle to the hand and a finger-only splint tends to twist on it; the palm strap on this one stops that. The finger strap goes up to 4" around, which also suits a larger thumb.

Yes. It's reversible. Flip it over and the palm strap wraps the other way. There's no separate left and right version to buy.

Finger strap up to 4" in circumference, palm strap up to 12". That's half an inch more finger room than our other trigger splints, which matters if the finger is swollen.

The splinted finger is immobilised; the palm strap is soft neoprene and doesn't stop you gripping, driving or typing with the rest of the hand. It's non-slip on the inside, so it doesn't creep round as you move.
