This one covers the finger joints with a curved aluminum stay and leaves the knuckle and wrist free. It holds the middle joint straight. The Extended runs a 6.25" bar from fingertip to wrist with a third strap. Choose that one when the whole finger needs to be held straight rather than just the middle joint.
Any of them, on either hand, index, middle, ring, pinky or thumb, up to 3.5" around. There's no left or right version; the D-ring strap just wraps the other way. If you need more than 3.5", the Trigger Finger Splint with Neoprene Wrap (4") gives you more room.
Yes, and overnight is when most people get the most from it. Most people wear it overnight because that is when the finger is held still for longest. The neoprene wicks moisture and is lightly padded, so it doesn't get clammy or dig in.
The splinted finger is held straight, so it won't bend to a key. That's the job. The other four fingers are completely free. Most people type a little slower and manage fine. If you need that finger working during the day, wear the splint at night only.

Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent and hang it to dry. Don't put it in the machine or the dryer. Heat can distort the aluminum stay. This is the main reason people buy the 2-Pack: one to wear while the other dries.
Snug enough that the splint does not rotate, loose enough that the fingertip keeps its normal colour. If the finger tingles or the tip goes pale, slacken it a notch.
