A steel commode rated to 350 lb whose arms release and drop clear of the seat. Seat height adjusts from 18.25 to 22.5 inches, and it also works as a raised toilet seat or as toilet safety rails.
What a drop arm actually does
On a standard commode the armrest is fixed, so getting on means lifting over it or shuffling forward from the front. A drop arm releases and swings down out of the way, which lets you transfer sideways instead: wheelchair alongside, both seats at the same height, slide across. If you or the person helping you already do sideways transfers from a wheelchair or a bed, this is the feature worth paying for. If you walk to the commode unaided, a fixed-arm model does the same job for less.
