When the whole finger needs to be held straight, not just the middle joint. The 6.25" aluminum bar runs from the fingertip down past the knuckle and is anchored by a wrist strap, so nothing bends. That is what you want when nothing in the finger should bend. The shorter Trigger Finger Splint is easier to live with if you only need the middle joint held.

Yes, gently. Bend it by hand to follow the natural curve of your finger before you strap it on. Don't bend it back and forth repeatedly. Aluminum work-hardens and can crack.

Three on the finger and hand, plus a removable wrist strap. Use all of them when you want the finger held completely still. For a milder injury you can leave the wrist strap off and it becomes a lighter, full-length finger splint.

Yes. The neoprene blend is padded and moisture-wicking, and the wrist strap stops it working loose overnight. Many people wear it at night and switch to a lighter option during the day.

Yes. Only the splinted finger is fixed; the remaining fingers and thumb are free. You'll notice the wrist strap when you flex your wrist, but it doesn't stop you.
