Functionally yes. Hoyer lift is a brand name that became the everyday term for any patient transfer lift. This is an electric patient lift that does the same job, using a powered actuator rather than a hand-pumped hydraulic cylinder.

What is the weight capacity?

Can one caregiver use it alone?

Yes, that is what it is designed for. The electric actuator does the lifting, so a single caregiver guides the lift and the sling rather than bearing the person's weight. A second helper is useful while you are learning.

What is the difference between an electric and a hydraulic patient lift?
